Camp NaNoWriMo Update: Week 3

We are three weeks into CampNaNoWriMo and I am really thrilled with my progress. As I alluded to in a previous post, this camp I am working on two projects. The first project was to finish a WIP i had begun in March. I finished that in about a week and moved on to project number two.

For this project, I had decided to rewrite something I had started and then put aside. I was starting over from the beginning, but reusing a lot of the old words. I didn't feel right counting those recycled words towards my NaNo progress, so I only counted a fraction of them until I reached the original word count of 51,000 words. Well, I reached that point this past weekend and now every word I write counts towards my NaNo goal.

I have passed my original goal of 37,000 words and am hoping to meet my stretch goal of 50,000 in the next week. I am just shy of 42,000 words and am confident I can manage 8K in the seven days.

As I have mentioned before, one of the reasons I am writing so well is because of all of the encouragement I am receiving from my peers. It's still not too late to join my daily shout out group on twitter. just click on one of the messages in the sidebar and comment with your NaNo goals. I'll add you to the list for daily encouragement.
